Probiotics
The word "probiotic" comes from the Greek words "pro" which means "in favor" and "biotikos" which means "life".
In 2001, probiotics were defined by the World Health Organization (WHO)1 as "living microorganisms which, when ingested in sufficient quantity, exert positive effects on health, beyond traditional nutritional effects »
In concrete terms, probiotics, or microbiotic strains, temporarily strengthen the intestinal flora so that the good bacteria/bad bacteria balance is restored and the former can take over the latter.
