Vegetable charcoal is obtained by carbonizing coconut shells. A second pass at high temperature activates and reinforces its adsorption capacity. This inert product is perfectly tolerated in the digestive tract. Vegetable charcoal has the essential property of fixing the gases produced in the intestine by the untimely fermentation of certain foods. It is used in particular in case of difficult digestion accompanied by bloating. It may be indicated as an adjunctive treatment for diarrhea (in addition to dietary and rehydration measures).
